Role Overview
The Student Support Technician provides essential ICT assistance directly to students at AUT's City, North, and South campuses. This permanent, full-time role involves delivering excellent customer service and reliable technical support within a multicultural academic environment. The technician will handle first-contact IT issues and contribute significantly to the success of AUT's IT support framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer ICT assistance and support to a diverse student body across three campuses.
- Collaborate within a supportive, team-oriented workplace fostering positivity and engagement.
- Provide high-quality, accurate, and personable computer help to students.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications in both Windows and Mac OS environments.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, able to convey information clearly and precisely.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities involving creative thinking and solution development.
- Effective planning, organization, and prioritization skills to manage workload based on customer needs efficiently.
- Ability to work autonomously, maintaining a high standard of service independently.
Working Hours and Conditions
The position requires 37.5 hours weekly, distributed through rostered shifts from 8 AM to 11 PM, Monday through Saturday.
Eligibility and Qualifications
- Graduate level education or equivalent relevant experience is expected.
- Desirable to hold a bachelor's degree or similar qualification.
- Demonstrated strong customer service aptitude in multicultural settings.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and supporting AUT’s cultural journey centered around Te Aronui.

Compensation
Salary ranges from $62,000 to $66,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
