Role Overview

The position involves leading a team of six structural engineers and technicians, providing technical expertise, mentorship, and daily leadership. You will be central to steering the team's future and contributing to the company's expansion. Remaining engaged in technically complex structural engineering projects, you will oversee design quality, assurance, and client satisfaction. Cultivating a collaborative and accountable team culture, you will support development of engineers at various career stages. Managing client relationships, supporting commercial project success, and actively participating in business development and strategic growth are key components. This role offers opportunities for influence and advancement into senior leadership.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Recognized Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status capable of providing Producer Statements for Auckland Council.
  • At least 10 years of experience in structural engineering with emphasis on industrial, power, or energy sectors.
  • Extensive experience in New Zealand consultancy and project delivery environments.
  • Proven leadership in managing structural engineering teams, mentoring technical staff, and fostering team advancement.
  • Expertise in seismic assessment, structural strengthening, temporary works, and handling technically complex structures.
  • Ability to balance technical duties, commercial objectives, and leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong commercial insight with skills in building and sustaining client partnerships.
