About the Company
An established SGX-listed manufacturing group in Singapore is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to join its senior finance leadership team as part of succession planning. The organisation is focused on strengthening its finance function through innovation, transformation, and continuous improvement, aiming to modernize processes and enhance system capabilities.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to senior leadership, the Financial Controller will lead the group's financial controllership activities, ensuring accurate financial management, reporting, governance, and statutory compliance under Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), SGX listing requirements, and other regulations.
This role demands strong collaboration with business and operational heads to provide financial insights, uphold financial discipline, and drive sustainable business performance. Key responsibilities include leading finance transformation efforts, streamlining processes, improving reporting and data quality, and promoting technology and automation usage. Enhancing finance operating models, controls, and workflows to maintain scalability and agility are critical.
Within the manufacturing environment, oversight includes cost accounting, inventory management, product costing, margin analysis, and operational financial controls, offering transparency into cost and profitability drivers.
The successful candidate will act as a change agent, challenging existing methodologies, implementing best practices, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and positioning finance as a strategic partner. As part of succession planning, developing the finance team and strengthening processes is essential, with progressive assumption of broader leadership responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related fields.
- Between 10 to 20 years of progressive finance experience, preferably within manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Strong expertise in financial reporting, controllership, and governance.
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing operations and cost accounting.
