Position Summary
The Store Manager in Training (SMIT) role is designed as a developmental opportunity to prepare candidates for future CVS Store Manager positions. Over 16 weeks, participants engage in a combination of self-directed and interactive training aimed at enhancing leadership capabilities.
Training and Support
This program includes both virtual learning and practical, hands-on experience. Throughout the training, candidates receive guidance from a supportive network comprising a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach.
Key Skills and Responsibilities
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing to lead and support team members.
- Deliver outstanding customer service through attentive care.
- Implement merchandising strategies focused on driving store sales growth.
- Oversee inventory management and safeguard store assets to ensure profitability.
Candidate Expectations
- Engage actively with leadership in structured learning experiences aimed at career progression.
- Take on management responsibilities within the store in alignment with CVS values and policies.
- Foster team engagement consistent with CVS's goal to support individuals on their journey to better health.
- Be open to accepting promotion opportunities across various locations within the designated market.
Required Qualifications
- Willingness to accept Store Manager promotions at any store within the assigned market area.
- Flexibility to transfer among CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated region.
- Availability to work variable schedules based on operational needs.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Prior retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor is necessary.
Work Details
This is a full-time position requiring approximately 45 hours per week.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a base hourly wage ranging between $18.50 and $23.88, influenced by factors such as experience, education, and location.
