Role Overview

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) role is a developmental position designed to prepare candidates for future store leadership within CVS. This program spans 16 weeks and offers a blend of virtual and practical training to equip participants with the necessary leadership skills for managing a CVS store.

Key Development and Responsibilities

• Participate in self-paced and collaborative training to build leadership capabilities.
• Receive ongoing support from designated leaders including District Leaders, Human Resources Business Partners, Training Store Managers, and Store Manager coaches.
• Develop strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively lead and support your team.
• Deliver high-quality customer service as part of daily responsibilities.
• Implement merchandising strategies to drive sales growth.
• Oversee inventory and asset management to ensure store profitability.

Program Expectations

• Engage actively with leadership during key learning activities to advance towards promotion.
• Perform as a member of the management team, aligning leadership approaches with CVS policies and values.
• Motivate colleagues in line with CVS's mission to help people achieve better health.
• Demonstrate readiness to accept promotion opportunities within the assigned market.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to relocate or transfer within the designated market for Store Manager roles as needed.
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule based on store needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred; however, relevant work experience may substitute for educational qualifications.
• Experience in retail management or prior experience as a CVS Supervisor is required.

Work Schedule and Compensation

• Expected weekly work hours: approximately 45 hours.
• This is a full-time position.
• Hourly pay range: $18.50 to $26.25 depending on factors such as experience, education, and geographic location.
