Store Assistant

Job Overview

The Store Assistant is responsible for overseeing the proper receipt, inspection, documentation, and issuance of incoming and outgoing goods. The role ensures accurate inventory control and compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards, maintaining a stock accuracy of 100% through physical verification versus the ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Accurately count, inspect, and document all goods received and dispatched
• Timely issue of materials to the shop floor
• Record all transactions meticulously in the ERP system
• Participate actively in monthly stocktaking activities
• Maintain inventory levels in accordance with consumption rates and lead times to prevent shortages
• Submit requisitions for consumable item orders to the purchasing department
• Promote environmental responsibility by controlling paper usage, including reusing single-sided paper for printing
• Complete daily routine tasks efficiently
• Adhere to established quality, health & safety, and environmental policies
• Perform all tasks safely and report unsafe conditions or practices promptly to supervisors
• Comply fully with the company’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) 100% of the time based on area and machine requirements
• Use proper techniques and equipment such as trollies and tables for transporting heavy materials
• Operate overhead cranes and handle materials up to specified dimensions safely
• Handle chemicals responsibly, with knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), appropriate PPE, and safe storage and disposal procedures
• Be familiar with emergency protocols including fire alarm use, fire extinguishers, emergency assembly procedures, and participate in drills
• Report any injuries, illnesses, or hazards affecting self or others immediately
