Role Summary

We are seeking a Robotic Plasma Operator to join our Fabrication Department based in Letterkenny. This role involves operating robotic plasma cutting equipment to manufacture modular components essential for data center infrastructure. Reporting to the Team Lead of Fabrication Support, the candidate must have precision, problem-solving capabilities, and uphold safety and quality standards rigorously.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, program, and operate robotic plasma cutting machines to cut structural steel and components precisely for modular data center units.
• Set up and calibrate machines, adjusting parameters such as cutting speed, power, and paths in accordance with technical specifications.
• Manage material handling including loading and unloading steel parts, confirming material dimensions align with fabrication requirements.
• Conduct thorough inspections of cut items to verify compliance with blueprints and ensure defect-free, accurate cuts within tolerance limits.
• Carry out regular maintenance and troubleshooting to resolve machine and process issues swiftly.
• Collaborate closely with welders, assemblers, designers, and other fabrication team members to meet production goals efficiently.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols, wearing required PPE, and operating machinery safely.
• Keep detailed records of machine configurations, maintenance activities, and production metrics to maintain traceability.
• Identify and propose improvements in processes to enhance workflow and production efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

• Technical education or certification in Robotics, Welding, Automation, or related disciplines is advantageous.
• At least one year of experience operating robotic plasma cutters, CNC machines, or similar fabrication equipment in a manufacturing context.

Essential Skills

• Capability in programming, operating, and troubleshooting robotic plasma cutting machinery.
• Strong familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T, and material specification comprehension.
• Experience in metal fabrication, particularly cutting and shaping steel for data center applications.
• Adept at interpreting technical schematics and drawings.
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills relevant to robotics and CNC equipment.
• Quick problem-solving skills to minimize production downtime.
• High attention to detail ensuring precision and quality throughout operation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for teamwork and coordination.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced fabrication setting focused on producing modular data center components.
• Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to perform responsibilities independently while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
