Job description
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Storage Administrator with over 10 years in the field to deliver operational and technical support for enterprise storage infrastructure in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This position involves monitoring storage systems, managing incidents, and performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal storage performance and availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide intermediate (L1.5) operational support for enterprise storage systems.
- Monitor storage systems including capacity, performance, connectivity, and hardware health.
- Resolve storage-related incidents and alerts within predefined service level agreements.
- Carry out regular storage administrative tasks such as LUN creation, deletion, expansion, volume provisioning, decommissioning, and capacity management.
- Manage host/initiator registration, storage allocation, and reclamation processes.
- Oversee and troubleshoot SAN and NAS environments, including basic FC, iSCSI, and NFS connectivity issues.
- Proactively monitor storage capacity and performance to anticipate and address potential problems.
- Assist with storage zoning activities in collaboration with SAN and Network teams.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and multipathing issues between hosts and storage.
- Monitor hardware alerts for disks, controllers, ports, and other components, escalating complex problems as necessary.
- Support firmware upgrades, maintenance, storage migrations, and data movement per existing procedures.
- Manage replication alerts and coordinate with backup teams to resolve storage-related backup failures.
- Perform daily and weekly health checks on storage systems and maintain operational documentation and reports.
- Handle incidents, service requests, and changes via IT service management tools such as ServiceNow.
- Maintain precise documentation of storage configurations and troubleshooting activities.
- Collaborate with Windows, Linux, VMware, Network, and Application teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
