Job description
Role Summary
The Pump Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Quality Control (QC) Engineer plays a critical role in conducting documented inspections to verify that parts comply with relevant drawings, procedures, specifications, and all required statutory and regulatory criteria. This role oversees the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and project quality plan development in alignment with both customer and company specifications as well as international standards. The QC Engineer also manages, advises on, and controls all project-specific quality control documentation. Experience within Pump OEM or skid-mounted equipment manufacturing sectors is essential. The position reports to the Quality Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and define testing and inspection criteria for projects, including ITPs and procurement specifications.
- Participate in inspection and expediting activities as scheduled.
- Lead Pre-Inspection Meetings (PIM) to coordinate inspection activities.
- Execute quality assurance activities for manufactured equipment and materials following approved procedures and ITPs.
- Review and approve vendor and manufacturer test reports and documentation (e.g., IRB, MDRB).
- Prepare detailed Inspection and Expediting Reports.
- Conduct shop floor and desk-based expediting tasks.
- Assess and verify punch lists and address non-conformances appropriately.
- Issue Inspection Release Certificates when required.
- Compile Inspection Disposition Reports (IDR) for quality records.
- Collaborate with project coordinators, clients, vendors, and quality staff to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Conduct sourcing inspections for electrical equipment such as motors and Local Operating Stations (LOS); participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Undertake any additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 3-5 years of relevant experience in the Pump OEM and/or skid-mounted equipment manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards including 34-SAMSS-831/711, 611, SA-8020-831, 17-SAMSS-502, 503, 515, IR-340200, and IR-173700.
- Holding certifications QM01, QM02, QM21, and QM36 is advantageous.
- Knowledge of standards like NEMA, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, IEC, NEC, and IEEE is essential.
- Understanding of inspection equipment common in pump skids, instrumentation assembly, test operations, and related accessories.
- Certified internal or Lead Auditor for ISO 9001:2015 is required.
- Strong grasp of quality standards, laws, and national and international regulations.
- Possess analytical skills, attention to detail, and a positive, flexible attitude with eagerness to learn.
