Challenges and Domain

Our focus is precise software engineering amidst the complexities of telecom, managing diverse carrier APIs, real-time provisioning and lifecycle management, and multi-currency billing. We ensure our systems are highly observable, operable, and resilient to incidents globally. Bridging legacy carrier protocols with emerging technologies like eSIMs, IoT, satellite connectivity, and 6G, Gigs is building a platform tackling enduring technical challenges.

Role & Responsibilities

• Architect and refine cross-cutting systems involving event-driven architectures, multi-carrier integrations, and multi-tenant platforms with governance protocols to maintain coherence amid growth.
• Enhance operational excellence focusing on system observability, service level objectives, graceful degradation, incident response processes, and ownership culture.
• Identify and integrate AI advancements into platform engineering practices.
• Mentor senior engineers and contribute to defining growth paths for senior individual contributors.
• Deliver production-quality code and collaborate with engineering leadership to strategize technical directions.

Candidate Profile

You possess extensive experience developing and operating large-scale distributed, event-driven systems, with sharp operational instincts emphasizing observability, failure handling, and maintainability. Adept in multi-language technology environments, you understand agentic AI and have practical insights into when its application benefits engineering tasks. Known for influencing cross-team technical outcomes with credibility rather than authority, you actively elevate peers’ technical abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in telecommunications, payment systems, or API platforms spanning multiple markets.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Ruby, Go, TypeScript, and Python.
• Experience working at technology companies undergoing significant scaling (e.g., 50 to 200 engineers).
• Knowledge in domain-driven design and in managing platform or product boundary challenges.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is between €125,000 and €150,000 per year.
