Role Overview

As Doit continues scaling its suite of products across Southeast Asia, we require experienced technical leaders to tackle complex engineering challenges and uplift our engineering standards. The Staff Software Engineer spearheads the technical direction and delivery of major products and systems. This is a hands-on position involving system design, software development, and driving high-impact engineering efforts from conception to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and implementation of significant products, systems, and engineering programs.
• Architect scalable and reliable solutions spanning backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure layers.
• Engage in active coding, prototyping, reviewing code, debugging, and resolving issues in production.
• Make informed architectural decisions balancing speed, scalability, reliability, cost, and maintainability.
• Translate ambiguous product requirements into clear technical plans and execution strategies.
• Enhance engineering quality through robust system design, comprehensive testing, security enforcement, observability, and refined development processes.
• Lead critical technical projects and mentor engineers across multiple teams.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience delivering production-grade systems.
• Expertise in backend and frontend development, distributed systems, API design, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
• Excellent skills in system design and architecture of complex, large-scale systems.
• Strong coding proficiency coupled with a hands-on approach.
• Proven experience leading major engineering projects end-to-end from design through deployment.
• Proficient at evaluating technical trade-offs and guiding engineering teams to resolve complex production challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scaling engineering teams, systems, or development methodologies through periods of rapid growth.
• Familiarity working across multiple products, markets, or international locations.

Working Environment

This is a fully remote role with a globally distributed team operating across various time zones. Candidates must be adept at collaborating effectively within a fast-paced international environment. English proficiency is required as it is the primary communication language.
