You will join the team behind eBay Live, our innovative live shopping experience that extends eBay's mission by showcasing unique collectibles and fashion with real-time buyer-seller interactions. Although live shopping is a new and fast-growing segment in the US and Europe, it has a well-established presence in the Asia-Pacific region. We seek an enthusiastic and collaborative Staff iOS Engineer - MTS 2 to help evolve eBay Live into a market leader and an integral part of our global platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert product requirements into clean, maintainable, scalable software design and code.
• Take ownership of extensive functional areas, leveraging deep technical expertise.
• Influence cross-domain teams by guiding critical technical decisions.
• Enhance team productivity by identifying and promoting opportunities for efficiency gains.
• Architect flexible designs anticipating evolving application needs to accelerate engineering velocity.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to devise innovative and goal-aligned solutions.
• Manage project features by breaking them into manageable tasks and swiftly resolving obstacles.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring, coaching, architectural decisions, and engagement across multiple teams.
• Detect systemic gaps and challenges, propose effective solutions, establish the engineering roadmap, and lead issue resolution.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
• Over 8 years of professional experience in native mobile iOS application development.
• Expertise in applying modern platform design patterns and architecture.
• Proficient in testing iOS apps using native platform tools.
• Experienced with dependency management systems in iOS development.
• Advanced networking knowledge including migration between stacks, GraphQL, Protocol Buffers, streaming protocols, and publish-subscribe models.
• Skilled in monitoring and optimizing app performance.
• Proven track record designing, implementing, and maintaining shared codebases and internal/external libraries.
• Deep understanding of iOS Human Interface Guidelines and design paradigms.
• Mastery of advanced Swift features and iOS APIs.
• Expert debugging skills with tools such as LLDB, Instruments, and network condition simulators.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes for iOS.
