Working Arrangement

Our hybrid model requires working onsite in London offices a minimum of two days weekly to encourage collaboration, accelerate learning, and strengthen team culture.

Role Overview

The Web & Apps department drives ASOS's Technology efforts by delivering an exceptional customer experience focused on fashion inspiration, engagement, and excitement. We employ cutting-edge technologies at scale to exceed customer expectations.

We seek a mid-level Android Engineer for the Customer Experience team to advance our Android application's success, which boasts over 5 million active users globally, an average rating of 4.8 stars on the app store, and 99.9% crash-free sessions. Kotlin currently comprises over 95% of the codebase, with plans to eliminate Java entirely in the near future.

Candidate Profile

  • Passionate mid-level Android developer with strong Kotlin proficiency
  • Experienced in reactive programming methodologies
  • Capable of participating in technical architecture and design discussions
  • Committed to unit and UI testing, perceiving all untested code as legacy
  • Enjoys agile/scrum methodologies and thrives within smaller cross-functional, feature-oriented teams
  • Comfortable owning substantial projects from planning through deployment
  • Active contributor to the Android developer community via blogs, open-source projects, or speaking engagements
