Role Overview
We are seeking a Public Cloud Operations Expert to join our Singapore office. This role focuses on comprehensive lifecycle management of enterprise hybrid cloud infrastructure, overseeing AWS and Alibaba Cloud resources for optimal performance, availability, cost efficiency, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, monitor, and maintain AWS and Alibaba Cloud services including compute, storage, networking, and container management (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, EKS, ECS, OSS, ACK).
- Design fault-tolerant, auto-scaling cloud systems with optimized network configurations like AWS Direct Connect and Alibaba Cloud CEN.
- Implement robust monitoring and alerting frameworks using native tools (AWS CloudWatch, Alibaba Cloud CloudMonitor) and open-source platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
- Lead incident management and root cause analysis to mitigate performance bottlenecks and misconfigurations.
- Conduct cost optimization through analysis of resource consumption, use of reserved instances, auto-scaling, and storage lifecycle policies.
- Establish resource quotas and controls to avoid overspending.
- Maintain cloud security baselines, including configuration of security groups, IAM policies, and regular vulnerability assessments.
- Design and enforce granular access permissions via AWS IAM and Alibaba RAM; oversee database auditing with tools like AWS CloudTrail and Alibaba DAS.
- Collaborate with development teams to improve application architecture through cloud-native methods such as serverless and microservices.
- Create and maintain operation procedure documentation and lead technical training within teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive expertise in core AWS or Alibaba Cloud services relating to compute, storage, networking, and security, with familiarity in the alternate platform.
- Strong skills in Linux/Windows administration and automation using Shell, Python, and Ansible.
- Experience managing container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, plus ECS/EKS/ACK services and related cloud-native technologies like Service Mesh.
- Minimum of 5 years in operational roles, including 3+ years managing large-scale public cloud environments with over 100 instances.
- Preferred experience with cloud platform construction, hybrid cloud design, or large-scale data center migrations.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with effective communication to manage cross-functional teams including operations, development, testing, and security.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or Alibaba Cloud ACP/ACE are advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related disciplines.
Additional Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of multi-cloud management platforms covering AWS, Alibaba Cloud, and Azure, as well as FinOps for cost management.
- Understanding of cloud security frameworks including Web Application Firewalls and DDoS protection mechanisms.
- Experience with big data and AI operational tools like Alibaba Cloud MaxCompute and AWS EMR.
