Role Overview

We seek a proactive Staff Analytics Engineer to lead development and upkeep of world-class data infrastructure at our company. This senior individual contributor role centers around designing and maintaining the dbt modeling layer used by departments such as Finance, Product, and Markets for decision-making.

You will set the technical standards for analytics engineering, managing complex modelling challenges and ensuring data self-service across the organization. Leveraging AI throughout the data modeling lifecycle and collaborating with various stakeholders are key components of the role. Location options include London, Dubai, or NYC.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage dbt transformations by building essential models, standards, tests, and documentation to maintain reliability and scalability.
• Develop dashboards, alerts, and tools that proactively identify issues before they escalate.
• Establish a robust knowledge base, documentation, and validation measures to empower autonomous data analysis.
• Implement AI tools to enhance dbt development and data quality, supporting team-wide adoption.
• Address challenging domain-specific data projects of high priority.
• Promote data excellence by conducting code reviews, sharing best practices, mentoring peers, and elevating company-wide data standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• A minimum of seven years in analytics engineering and/or data science roles.
• Expertise in SQL and handling large, complex datasets within dbt.
• Superior communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Proficient with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and cloud data warehouses like Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
• Experienced in modern BI tools (e.g., Looker, Mode) and enabling true self-service analytics.
• Capability with Python and/or R programming.
• Detail-oriented, pragmatic, and willing to engage with tasks of any scale.
• Legal working rights in either the UK, US, or UAE hubs.

Preferred Experience

• Background in fast-paced environments such as startups or scale-ups.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving Finance, Engineering, or Product teams.
