Overview

This role involves executing calibration tasks for Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) within a Calibration Laboratory setting, ensuring adherence to quality and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out calibration procedures on TMDE as part of daily laboratory operations.
• Support the Calibration Technician by assisting with minor repairs and calibration servicing of customer equipment.
• Ensure laboratory equipment complies with Metrological Traceability standards aligned with the International System of Units (SI).
• Conduct periodic preventive maintenance and intermediate checks on Al TAIF reference standards and related equipment to maximize operational availability.
• Verify accuracy of calibration data reports, ensuring alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and accreditation body stipulations.
• Validate and develop uncertainty calculation tools, formulating measurement uncertainty computations per ISO-GUM standards.
• Follow and implement approved technical manuals, laboratory procedures, and work instructions rigorously.
• Manage inventory of consumables, tools, and equipment within the calibration laboratory.
• Provide technical support to laboratory personnel within operational capabilities.
• Participate in interlaboratory and intralaboratory comparisons as well as quality checks to uphold calibration service standards.
• Assist in creating and supervising corrective and preventive actions addressing audit non-conformities from internal and external audits.
• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and uncertainty calculations accessible to all laboratory staff.
• Advocate and comply with ISO/IEC 17025 and accreditation requirements for an accredited calibration laboratory.
• Engage actively in the organisation’s risk management program by understanding approved risk frameworks.
• Identify and report risks linked to calibration processes during TMDE calibration and related activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred, particularly in Engineering.
• At least five years of hands-on experience in calibration or related areas.
• Skill in conducting and formulating measurement uncertainty calculations.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 standard is essential.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite, with strong skills in Excel.
• Effective English communication skills, both written and oral, are necessary.
• Preferred: minimum two years in a supervision role within a calibration laboratory.
