BAT Nigeria is currently seeking a Sourcing Executive based in Lagos to join our team under junior management level, reporting directly to the Procurement Business Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). This position entails leading procurement sourcing activities for Nigeria and providing support to select SSA markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Steer sourcing and procurement initiatives within Nigeria and assist SSA markets as necessary.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with internal business partners to comprehend their needs and deliver effective procurement solutions.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies, manage supplier selection, and conduct commercial negotiations.
• Oversee supplier performance, address risk management, foster innovation, and drive ongoing improvement projects.
• Ensure strict adherence to BAT’s procurement policies, governance standards, and contractual commitments.
• Contribute to cost reduction efforts, value generation, and assurance of supply continuity.
• Provide insights on procurement market trends and commercial intelligence to support strategic decisions.
• Collaborate closely with regional and global procurement teams to execute category strategies.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or related disciplines.
• Three to six years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or category management, ideally within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
• Strong skills in negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and influence.
• Commercially astute with analytical capabilities to interpret market and supplier data.
• Hands-on experience managing sourcing projects and cultivating supplier partnerships.
• Understanding of procurement governance, contractual frameworks, and risk mitigation processes.
• Capacity to juggle multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with SAP or Coupa procurement platforms is a desirable advantage.
