Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Business Orchestration & Automation Subject Matter Expert (SME) to become an integral part of our team. This mid-level position bridges the gap between business stakeholders and IT teams by transforming operational challenges into scalable automation solutions. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and refining comprehensive process workflows using contemporary BPM, RPA, and integration tools to enhance efficiency and generate business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct process discovery workshops with business units to identify opportunities for automation and orchestration.
- Analyze and design workflows by modeling current and future states using BPMN 2.0 and DMN notations.
- Apply process mining and value stream mapping techniques to quantify potential improvements in time, costs, and error rates.
- Develop detailed process design documentation, including business requirements and functional specifications.
- Design, develop, test, and implement automated workflows utilizing at least one RPA platform.
- Work extensively with BPM and orchestration platforms for process modeling and integration.
- Integrate diverse enterprise systems using APIs, middleware solutions, or Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS).
- Implement event-driven and human-in-the-loop workflow mechanisms to manage exceptions and escalation scenarios.
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and data governance standards in automation solutions.
- Manage the complete automation lifecycle: from discovery through deployment and ongoing monitoring.
- Define and monitor performance indicators such as SLA compliance, full-time equivalent (FTE) savings, error reduction, and throughput.
- Lead post-deployment reviews and continuously enhance live automated processes based on performance insights.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including runbooks and support transition materials.
- Serve as an SME and trusted consultant on automation strategy and applicability within business units.
- Collaborate with IT Architecture, Data, and Security teams to guarantee alignment with enterprise platforms.
- Coach and mentor junior analysts and developers on best practices and automation tools.
- Deliver presentations and provide return on investment (ROI) analysis to senior management and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in AI orchestration, enterprise automation, or workflow design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Proficient in process analysis and design techniques.
- Expertise in conducting workshops and process modeling using BPMN 2.0 and DMN notation.
- Strong skills in process mining and value stream analysis to identify improvement areas.
- Advanced ability to author detailed process documentation and business requirement specifications.
- Hands-on experience developing automated processes using at least one recognized RPA tool.
- Experience with BPM or orchestration platforms and complex process modeling independently.
- Proven ability to integrate multiple enterprise systems through APIs, middleware, or iPaaS platforms.
- Knowledge of event-driven and human-in-the-loop workflow patterns.
- Understanding of security, compliance, and data governance applicable to automation solutions.
- Capability to manage the end-to-end automation delivery lifecycle.
- Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills, including mentoring and presenting to senior leaders.
Preferred Skills
- Industry experience within finance, healthcare, supply chain, human resources, or legal sectors.
- Familiarity with hyperautomation or intelligent automation technologies such as IDP or AI-enhanced workflows.
- Scripting skills in Python or JavaScript to extend automation capabilities.
