Role Summary
The Solution Architect role entails full ownership of architectural design across a designated vertical platform, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and technical standards under the Enterprise Architect's governance. This position entails translating complex business and product requirements into scalable, coherent, and compliant architectural solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Create both high-level and detailed architecture blueprints covering integration, data flow, and system boundaries, tailored to business needs and technical restrictions.
- Assess and recommend appropriate technologies and platforms congruent with enterprise architecture standards, documenting decision trade-offs comprehensively.
- Maintain thorough and updated documentation including architecture decision records, design specifications, and C4 model diagrams as definitive references.
- Enforce architecture standards and guardrails, managing deviations and cross-functional dependencies through established governance forums.
- Incorporate regulatory, security, and data governance requirements from the outset, proactively mitigating risks and compliance gaps.
- Participate actively in design presentations, peer review, and technology decisions, influencing organization-wide architectural evolution.
- Guide engineering teams during delivery phases to ensure design fidelity and prepare solutions for production, conducting structured design reviews to address non-functional requirements.
- Evaluate operational solutions against performance milestones, prioritize improvements, and feed findings into architectural roadmaps.
- Effectively communicate architectural complexities and trade-offs to diverse audiences including executives, fostering collaborative decision-making.
- Collaborate with peers, enterprise architects, and vendors to resolve shared concerns efficiently and avoid duplication.
- Promote architectural knowledge sharing within the organization through mentorship, presentations, and documentation.
Candidate Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferably holds relevant industry certfications such as AWS/Azure/GCP Solutions Architect or TOGAF.
- Minimum five years’ experience in solution architecture or a comparable senior technical design position.
- Over ten years’ leadership experience in designing complex, large-scale software systems.
- Strong background in designing and deploying complex enterprise-grade solutions.
- Hands-on expertise with cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform and cloud-native architecture principles.
- Proven ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical peers and executive leadership.
