About the Role and Company

Join a dynamic and agile professional services company operating across Australia and New Zealand, committed to using technology to help organisations innovate and grow. We seek an experienced Solution Architect specializing in Azure Integration Services (AIS) to design and govern large-scale connectivity solutions that go beyond simple integrations to build scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive design of integration architectures utilizing the entire AIS technology stack to address complex business logic and data movement challenges.
  • Drive adoption and implementation of Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP) like Message Routing, Content-Based Router, and Claim Check to create resilient systems.
  • Define and manage API Management (APIM) strategies, including policy creation, robust security frameworks (OAuth/OpenID), and fostering developer engagement.
  • Architect event-driven asynchronous messaging systems using Azure Service Bus and Event Grid ensuring loose coupling and scalability.
  • Guide modernization efforts transitioning from legacy middleware such as BizTalk and IBM MQ to native AIS solutions.
  • Establish and maintain standards, best practices, naming conventions, and reusable frameworks for use across delivery teams.
  • Conduct thorough architectural reviews and technical assessments to verify alignment with design and industry standards.
  • Engage with senior business leaders and non-technical stakeholders by translating complex technical concepts into clear insights.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • More than 10 years of experience in technical roles, with at least 5 years focused on architecting AIS solutions.
  • Comprehensive hands-on expertise in core AIS components: Logic Apps (including Standard and Consumption), API Management, Service Bus, and Event Grid.
  • In-depth understanding and application of Enterprise Integration Patterns in practical integration scenarios.
  • Advanced skills in data transformation using Liquid Templates, XSLT, and JSON/XML mapping for complex data translation tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of integration security using Managed Identities, Azure Key Vault, and private networking approaches.
  • Experience designing hybrid connectivity solutions linking on-premises infrastructure with Azure through secure Data Gateways or Private Links.
  • Proven consulting or lead architect experience with strong client influence capabilities.
