Solution Architect

About The Role

We are seeking a seasoned Solution Architect to lead comprehensive technical designs for major Application Development & Maintenance (ADM) and Application Managed Services (AMS) projects within the Public Sector domain. This position involves transforming government agency needs and business goals into scalable, secure, and robust architectures across applications, integrations, data, and cloud platforms, and ensuring these designs are implemented effectively throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of end-to-end architecture for significant ADM/AMS programs, addressing applications, integration, data management, and infrastructure/cloud requirements.
• Convert client demands, current IT landscapes, and business aims into clear, detailed solution architectures and designs, including both high-level and detailed schematics.
• Utilize architecture frameworks and standards, such as TOGAF or equivalent, to deliver maintainable, scalable, and consistent solutions.
• Specify architectural components, reusable design patterns, and technology selections mindful of public sector constraints like security, data residency, and compliance.
• Craft cloud-native and microservices-focused architectures considering leading cloud platforms and relevant Singapore Government cloud environments.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to government client stakeholders, effectively communicating complex technical matters during collaborative sessions and presentations.
• Support pre-sales efforts and bidding processes by contributing to proposals, RFI/RFP responses, and technical strategies for Public Sector bids.
• Collaborate with senior client and internal stakeholders to align architecture decisions with enterprise strategies and delivery limitations.
• Develop strong partnerships with Business Analysts, Project and Delivery Managers, and service line leads across Infrastructure, Security, Data, and AI sectors.
• Work closely with delivery teams throughout the build, testing, and deployment phases to ensure fidelity to the architectural vision.
• Offer technical guidance and assurance across project lifecycles, mitigating architecture risks and solving arising issues.
• Participate in governance activities such as design reviews, architecture boards, and quality assurance of technical outputs.
• Enhance solutioning processes continually by developing reusable frameworks and architecture best practices specific to the Public Sector.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience (generally 10 to 15+ years) in IT solution architecture and leadership roles.
• Proven proficiency in designing and delivering extensive ADM/AMS solutions, preferably involving Public Sector or government agency clients.
• Strong or rapidly acquired knowledge of Singapore's Public Sector technology environment, including relevant government cloud and technology frameworks.
• Familiarity with microservices architectures, typical application technologies like Java and .NET, data platforms, ERP systems, and leading cloud providers.
• Working knowledge of architecture frameworks (such as TOGAF) and familiarity with project delivery methodologies (Agile and traditional).
• Experience contributing to pre-sales proposals and bid documentation is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, capable of interacting confidently with both technical teams and executive leadership.
• Ability to thrive amid ambiguity and rapid change by applying structured technical reasoning and clarity.
• A relevant degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related disciplines, or equivalent professional experience; certifications like TOGAF or cloud architecture credentials are beneficial.
