Role Impact

You will spearhead critical engineering system projects related to GitHub migration, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), and securing software release processes, transforming the software development lifecycle. Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, shaping design strategies to build long-lasting system robustness, enhancing security within pipelines and artifacts, and driving developer productivity by optimizing build and deployment workflows. Collaborating across teams, you will translate broad technical requirements into concrete, widely-accepted solutions to shape future operational models.

Qualifications

• Over 8 years of professional background in software engineering, platform or DevOps/SRE engineering, release and build engineering, security engineering, developer tooling, or similar areas.
• Proven track record in independently managing complex technical challenges from inception to deployment, adoption, monitoring, and operational maintenance.
• Strong expertise in at least one relevant field, such as GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, modern deployment techniques, secure delivery, or artifact security.
• Experience with developer platforms, build infrastructures, or managing engineering operations on a large scale.

Preferred Experience

• History of leading cross-team projects requiring influence, alignment with stakeholders, facilitation of adoption, comprehensive documentation, support readiness, and mentoring engineers through technical choices.
• Familiarity with GitHub Enterprise features including Actions, repository and organization migrations, governance policies, GitHub Apps, or managing large-scale repositories.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and deployment platforms such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Harness, including orchestrating releases, rollbacks, environment management, artifact workflows, and ensuring release preparedness.
• Background in security automation or secure delivery pipelines, with knowledge of static application security testing (SAST), dependency and container scanning, secret detection, and related practices.
• Expertise in enhancing developer experience through internal platforms, software catalogues, documentation, workflow optimization, and technology stacks like Java, TypeScript, Node.js, cloud-native platforms, Kubernetes, containers, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, Ansible, observability tools, monitoring, alerting, on-call procedures, runbooks, incident response, support, reliability improvements, metrics-driven prioritization, and balancing technical rigor with practical delivery on a large scale.

Additional Information

This position requires working on-site in Galway, Ireland, three days per week as part of a hybrid work arrangement.
