Our Galway-based team concentrates on implementing artificial intelligence capabilities into Webex Calling, leading the integration of cutting-edge AI to enhance collaboration, boost efficiency, and foster innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Innovate by designing, developing, and directing key user-facing features impacting millions worldwide with a focus on AI-enhanced collaboration tools.
• Act as a technical exemplar and mentor within the engineering team, maintaining high standards for code excellence, robust testing, system dependability, and operational quality.
• Promote AI-first engineering practices, implementing methods that utilize advanced AI technologies to increase team productivity and accelerate feature delivery.
• Manage and optimize the architecture, scalability, and deployment processes of our microservices infrastructure, ensuring reliability and efficient continuous integration/deployment.
• Analyze and resolve intricate technical problems by employing data-driven solutions, balancing architectural priorities, and demonstrating agility amid evolving technical challenges.
• Own comprehensive initiatives from system design through to automated testing and resolution of complex operational incidents.
• Support the growth of junior and mid-level engineers through mentorship while collaborating with senior leaders to enhance technical leadership capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant analytical discipline such as Computer Science or Electronic/Software Engineering.
• A minimum of seven years of professional software development experience, primarily using Java, Python, or C++, with emphasis on Java microservices development.
• Experience leading architectural design for distributed multi-service systems, including setting API standards across teams.
• Proven skills in designing, configuring, or refining CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure management for high-availability systems, including container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes.

Preferred Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of advanced Java concepts, Spring Boot framework, and microservices patterns such as event sourcing, CQRS, and WebSocket technologies.
• Hands-on experience developing automated testing frameworks including contract testing, performance/load testing, and chaos engineering methodologies.
• Proven track record of peer code reviews and mentoring practices for junior and mid-level engineers.
• Experience leading adoption of AI-driven engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot to facilitate code scaffolding, safe refactoring, and automated test generation.
• Strong capability to assess and communicate complex technical trade-offs, manage technical debt, and align engineering decisions with broader business objectives.
