Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and driven Software Engineer with expertise in Ruby to remotely join our client's vibrant team. This full-time role centers on assessing and validating large language models (LLMs) regarding software development by building datasets and benchmarks that reflect real-world programming challenges. The successful candidate will work closely with AI researchers, contributing to pioneering evaluation techniques, analyzing open-source code, and enhancing AI-powered coding tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate and prioritize issues from popular open-source GitHub repositories to select relevant evaluation cases for LLM testing.
• Prepare and configure code repositories, including setting up environments and Docker containers, to ensure reproducible testing.
• Assess unit test coverage, code quality metrics, and overall software health to establish performance baselines.
• Execute, debug, and adapt Ruby codebases locally to evaluate LLM performance on debugging and code completion tasks.
• Collaborate with AI research teams to plan experiments, select repositories, and curate challenges to improve LLM capabilities.
• Maintain thorough documentation, manage testing pipelines, and support ongoing enhancement of evaluation methods.

Required Qualifications

• At least three years of professional experience in software engineering focused on Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• Strong familiarity with Git for version control and Docker for containerization.
• Practical experience setting up and managing automated testing pipelines ensuring reproducibility.
• Capability to navigate and modify complex, real-world codebases locally.
• Knowledge of Ruby testing frameworks such as RSpec and Minitest and gem management via Bundler.
• Understanding of code quality tools and best practices to maintain software robustness.
• Experience with or evaluating open-source projects is a plus.
