Software Engineer (React, Node.js, PostgreSQL)

Overview

We are actively seeking a skilled Software Engineer with a minimum of five years of solid experience in software development to join our vibrant team based in Singapore. Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and sustain software applications by writing clean, scalable, and efficient code tailored to meet specific user requirements.
• Construct scalable data pipelines focused on contact management through robust data ingestion, deduplication, and segmentation methodologies.
• Work in close coordination with product managers, designers, and engineering peers to deliver high-quality, citizen-focused products.
• Engage actively in code reviews to ensure superior code quality and enhance team knowledge sharing.
• Detect, diagnose, and remedy software defects and performance bottlenecks promptly.
• Own the quality assurance processes, including automated testing and continuous integration/deployment pipelines, ensuring software reliability and stability.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation consistent with architectural standards.
• Facilitate integration of the ContactSG system with external communication platforms such as email and SMS used by agencies.
• Remain updated with evolving industry trends and incorporate new technologies and best practices to enhance product offerings.
• Occasionally serve as technical lead for steering architectural decisions and aligning technical direction with business objectives.

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ hands-on experience in software engineering, preferably with a focus on full stack web development.
• Academic credentials in Computer Science or related disciplines preferred.
• Strong foundation in computer science essentials including data structures, algorithms, programming, and software design principles and patterns.
• Proficient in full stack development prominently with React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.
• Experienced in implementing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies, and DevOps methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure services, ideally with familiarity in AWS environments.
• Demonstrated ability to write maintainable, clean, and efficient code within a team-oriented environment.
• Experience with data lakes and processing large-scale datasets is advantageous.
• Familiarity with data deduplication and record matching techniques is beneficial.
• Background knowledge in CRM, contact management, or customer data platform domains adds value.
• Kotlin experience is a plus for supporting legacy codebases.
