Job Overview

JPMorganChase is seeking an experienced Software Engineer II to join the Payments Technology team in Singapore. This role involves designing and delivering reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions that support the bank's global business objectives. As a valued member of an agile team, you will contribute to critical areas across various business functions by employing advanced software engineering practices and leveraging cutting-edge AI-assisted tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement software solutions, including design, coding, and troubleshooting, applying innovative approaches to overcome complex technical challenges.
• Write secure, high-quality production code and maintain synchronized algorithms integrated with relevant systems.
• Create architectural and design documentation for sophisticated applications, ensuring all design requirements are satisfied in the software development process.
• Analyze and visualize large and varied data sets to continuously enhance software applications and system performance.
• Proactively detect hidden issues and data patterns to improve code quality and system architecture.
• Participate actively in software engineering communities and events exploring new technologies.
• Promote an inclusive team environment valuing diversity, opportunity, respect, and collaboration.
• Utilize enterprise-approved AI coding assistance tools to boost code quality, speed, and productivity, validating AI outputs through peer reviews, automated tests, and secure coding standards.
• Apply expertise in SDLC toolchains and incorporate AI-assisted development and automation techniques to maximize automation benefits.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering principles with a minimum of 2 years of relevant practical experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related equivalent field.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
• Proficiency in programming with one or more languages along with experience in large corporate environments.
• Knowledge of modern programming and database query languages.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Strong grasp of agile methodologies including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), application resiliency, and security principles.
• Understanding of software applications and technical processes within domains such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile technologies.
• Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation with critical evaluation skills for AI outputs.
• Awareness of responsible AI usage including data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, and observance of resiliency and security standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of modern front-end web technologies.
• Exposure to cloud-based platforms and services.
