Job Responsibilities

• Define ambiguous problems clearly and develop scalable, reliable, observable solutions.
• Design new services and transition legacy components focusing on scalability and robustness.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools extensively across all development phases and mentor colleagues in their use.
• Ensure high quality of deliverables including tests, code reviews, observability, and rollback strategies.
• Contribute to team-wide technical strategies, propose improvements, address systemic quality concerns, and detect security/performance issues.
• Communicate technical decisions effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Lead root cause analyses for multi-system production issues, implement fixes, and optimize resource usage without impacting performance.
• Support junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing; participate actively in Agile ceremonies.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong engineering fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, API design, and testing with focus on reliability, performance, and security.
• At least 4 years of experience building production software, owning complete components or services.
• Proven daily practice of AI-first development with advanced coding tools, capable of guiding others and discerning tool limitations.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code, recognizing flaws such as inaccurate APIs or logic errors, with discipline to avoid unsafe merges.
• Expertise in at least one modern backend programming language, preferably Python and Django, with a track record of quickly acquiring new languages.
• Hands-on experience in platform technologies such as relational databases (PostgreSQL), caching (Redis), search engines (Elasticsearch), containerization, CI/CD, and AWS services.
• Demonstrated ownership, clear reasoning, curiosity, and successful collaboration in distributed teams.
• Desirable: experience with front-end technologies like JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, or React; familiarity with Java; prior work in cybersecurity or email security; experience creating LLM-powered application features.
