Software Engineer - Backend Developer (MyCargill)

Job Purpose and Impact

The Software Engineering Professional is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and systems. Working with limited supervision, this role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to implement new features that address user needs and business objectives, as well as enhance existing software for better functionality and efficiency. Key activities include writing clean, scalable, and efficient code, troubleshooting and resolving moderately complex problems, participating in code reviews to uphold code quality, and sharing knowledge within the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, maintainable, and efficient software solutions.
• Utilize internal deployment tools and methodologies to automate deployment processes, ensuring smooth and reliable software releases.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to collect and understand moderately complex requirements and deliver aligned solutions.
• Create and maintain unit and integration tests for moderately complex software modules and perform debugging to uphold software quality and performance.
• Propose and implement improvements in software development and deployment workflows to enhance efficiency and system reliability.
• Produce and update thorough documentation regarding software applications, deployment methods, and system configurations.
• Offer technical assistance and troubleshoot moderately complex issues with deployed applications, aiming for minimal downtime and prompt problem resolution.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, with an expected typical experience of 3 years or more.
