About the Role
Join Cargill's protein and salt division located in London, Ontario, and contribute to producing wholesome, high-quality food products for diverse clients including foodservice providers, grocery outlets, manufacturers, and exporters. As a Sanitation Specialist, you will be part of a global team dedicated to safe, responsible, and sustainable food nourishment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and exceed sanitation standards consistently across the facility.
- Work comfortably with raw meat products, specifically chicken.
- Perform physically demanding tasks including standing for 8 to 10 hours and repetitive labor in a fast-paced setting.
- Handle chemicals safely while wearing appropriate personal protective gear.
- Follow all company safety procedures rigorously.
- Undertake additional duties as directed by supervisors.
Requirements
- Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.
- Comfortable and experienced in working with chemicals.
- Physically capable of crouching, bending, twisting, kneeling, and maneuvering within the plant.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs safely.
- Able to work indoors under conditions such as heat, cold, dust, and loud noise, using personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Knowledgeable in equipment lock-out and tag-out procedures during sanitation.
- Capable of working in confined and smaller spaces.
- Experience handling large power hoses and equipment up to 60 lbs, with or without accommodation.
- Perform day-to-day sanitation tasks including equipment disassembly, cleaning, sanitizing, inspection, and reassembly.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse environments.
Additional Information
This is a full-time onsite position with various shifts available in London, Ontario. Compensation is $26.10 per hour. Medical and dental benefits are provided. Relocation reimbursement is not offered. Cargill is an equal opportunity employer inclusive of individuals with disabilities and veterans.
