As a Software Development Engineer on the Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) team, you will develop both backend and customer-facing systems to enhance and advance email functionalities, aiming to provide users with seamless, rich, and unified email experiences. You will collaborate closely with engineering peers to architect reliable, scalable solutions designed to maintain high availability and meet global customer demands.

Your responsibilities will include working directly with customers and Amazon technology leaders to translate complex business needs into actionable projects and product features. Participation in strategic planning and guiding the service's future direction will be integral to your role.

Basic Qualifications

• Professional software development experience (non-internship).
• Experience designing or architecting new or existing systems focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Understanding of the full software development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
