Data Center IT Technician - Data Centre Operations

About the Role

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating AWS's global infrastructure to ensure continuous cloud service availability. This team manages all AWS data centers along with their servers, storage, networking components, power, and cooling equipment to support customer innovation worldwide. The role involves tackling complex issues affected by many factors related to the supply chain.

You will become part of a cross-functional team including software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain experts, security professionals, and operations managers. Collaboration across AWS facilitates upholding highest safety and security standards while maximizing capacity efficiently and economically for customers. Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure host racks according to internal service level agreements.
• Troubleshoot and repair server, storage, and network hardware, including physical component replacement.
• Address physical power issues at rack level and assist in power & cooling operations within data centers.
• Work shifts on a rotational basis: 4 days on, 4 days off including nights.
• Perform physical tasks involving lifting and racking equipment, utilizing provided lifting tools.
• Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a personal vehicle for travel between data center sites.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware.
• Minimum 1 year experience in computer networking.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred experience in handling customer interactions effectively under pressure during problem resolution.
