Overview

Join the AWS Shield team as a Software Development Engineer focused on Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) response. In this critical role, you will design and create systems that protect AWS infrastructure and customer applications against some of the largest DDoS attacks.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain software solutions for cloud security and distributed systems.
Collaborate in an agile environment delivering an AI-powered platform for detecting, diagnosing, and mitigating large-scale DDoS attacks.
Work closely with Software and Security Engineers to foster innovation and cross-team collaboration.
Take ownership and contribute meaningfully to protect AWS and its customers.

Basic Qualifications

Professional software development experience.
Background in designing or architecting new and existing systems with focus on design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
Proficiency in programming using at least one programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
Experience across the full software lifecycle: coding standards, code reviews, version control, build systems, testing, and operations.
