Software Development Engineer – Platform & Products

Role Overview

This position involves owning the web platform that enables agentic AI applications specifically designed for organizations focused on project management. The role requires a blend of product development, backend engineering, platform security, and technical mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain web applications facilitating orchestration, workflows, and SaaS functionality.
• Architect backend APIs that connect AI-powered services to the core product.
• Work closely with AI, machine learning, and MLOps engineers to deliver comprehensive feature solutions.
• Manage code workflows using GitHub, including reviews, branching, and continuous integration pipelines.
• Guarantee that the platform is secure, scalable, and ready for production deployments.
• Transform AI features from prototype stages to fully productionalized services.
• Implement integrations with enterprise systems such as Oracle, Yardi, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Develop Python-based backend services deployed on Google Cloud and Firebase.
• Create front-end components using React or Next.js, supporting Arabic and English languages as needed.
• Provide mentorship to a team of two to four engineers, enhancing architecture, service design, data modeling, and maintaining high engineering standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum six years of experience delivering production-level software, mainly focusing on backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming language.
• Experience with modern web technologies including React or Next.js, Node.js or Python, and RESTful API design.
• Hands-on experience with implementing AI agents within multi-tenant SaaS environments.
• Proven capability in developing enterprise-grade web applications.
• Experience deploying large language model (LLM) features into production, with understanding of retrieval mechanisms, prompting techniques, structured outputs, failure modes, cost optimization, and latency considerations.
• Ability to design evaluations and regression test suites for non-deterministic AI systems.
• Established experience with enterprise-level integration involving software like Oracle or Yardi.
• Daily active experience in coding AI agents and comprehension of their current limitations.
• Candidates must be based in Qatar or open to relocation.

Technical Skills

• Database technologies including Postgres and various NoSQL systems.
• Development best practices including GitHub usage, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), rigorous code reviews, and maintaining code quality.
• Proficiency in frameworks and platforms such as React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, Google Cloud Platform, and Firebase.
• The platform supports bilingual user interfaces in Arabic and English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure, or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with AI-powered products or platforms that handle large volumes of data.
• Industry experience in fields like construction, engineering, facilities management, procurement, or energy sectors.
• Background working in early-stage startup environments.
