Lifeguard

Job Overview

This role is situated within the Golf, Fitness, & Entertainment sector, specifically at a location on Salwa Road, Fereej Bin Mahmoud, Zone 23, Doha, Qatar. The Lifeguard will ensure swimmer safety by deploying appropriate rescue methods when necessary and monitoring the swimming area for hazards, unsafe behaviors, or individuals struggling in the water.

Core Responsibilities

• Implement safety measures by observing swimmers and detecting risky conditions or activities.
• Enforce facility rules and assist in maintaining a safe recreational environment.
• Identify situations where guests may be unable to safely participate and escalate concerns to supervisory staff.
• Attend to injured guests promptly until emergency medical services arrive.
• Create and maintain a welcoming, enjoyable atmosphere for all guests.
• Perform tasks such as obtaining, folding, and organizing towels according to standard procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness by washing, mopping, and tidying the pool deck.
• Report incidents, hazards, and unsafe conditions to management; complete required safety training and certifications.
• Adhere to company policies, protect confidential information, and safeguard company property.
• Greet and acknowledge all guests professionally; maintain a neat, professional appearance; assist guests including those with disabilities; express genuine appreciation to guests.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and guests alike.
• Support teamwork by treating coworkers respectfully and with dignity.
• Comply with quality assurance standards and expectations.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and mechanical devices visually for defects.
• Respond promptly and physically to work demands, including running, walking, or jogging as needed.
• Remain on feet or seated for extended periods during shifts.
• Handle materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds independently, and over 75 pounds with assistance.
• Use fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to manipulate objects of varying sizes.
• Navigate uneven, slippery surfaces and ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and ramps.
• Perform physical movements such as reaching overhead and below knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Execute additional reasonable duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• No previous related work or supervisory experience required.
• Completion of any certifications or training mandated by local or state agencies relating to fitness equipment and lifeguard duties.
