Role Overview

AWS Infrastructure Services manages the design, planning, execution, and ongoing operations of all AWS's global infrastructure—powers the cloud’s relentless run-time. This team supports data centers, hardware components like servers, storage devices, networking gear, power, and cooling systems that guarantee our customers uninterrupted access to cutting-edge cloud solutions. We tackle complex challenges involving thousands of supply chain factors.

You will be a part of an interdisciplinary team that includes software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain experts, security professionals, and operations managers. This collaborative environment emphasizes safety, security, and delivering infinite capacity at minimal cost to customers. The AWS Global Connectivity and Network Availability (GCNA) unit forms the connectivity core of the AWS network, responsible for directing internet traffic enabling global user access to applications and information. GCNA architects and builds an intricate backbone network facilitating seamless data flow between data centers and customers.

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about cloud computing with deep experience in distributed systems design and implementation and able to mentor peers. A customer-first mindset with an aptitude to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced setting requiring exceptional technical and communication skills is essential. You will contribute to a seasoned team of network and systems development engineers, creating new services based on AWS technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the entire software development lifecycle including feature definition, prioritization, design, coding, and testing.
• Operate a global AWS infrastructure with worldwide customers and servers at vast scale.
• Gain insights into scaling and operating a global cloud business.

About the Team

The Internet Edge team within AWS Networking connects Amazon globally to the Internet, managing thousands of unique external networks worldwide. Their work ensures a high-performance, secure, and cost-effective global internet connectivity experience powering retail services, video streaming, content delivery, DNS, AWS cloud services, and consumer devices.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional software development post-internship.
• Minimum 2 years experience in system design or architecture including design patterns, reliability, and scaling of new/existing systems.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years experience covering the full software development lifecycle with coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent qualifications.
