Role Overview

We are looking for a full-time, on-location Sofa Maker based in Doha. Responsibilities include accurately measuring and cutting sofa frames, selecting and installing foam padding, and upholstering with various fabrics. Duties involve adhering to design specifications, utilizing manual and power tools safely, completing finishing touches such as stitching and trimming, and confirming each piece meets quality benchmarks. Collaboration with designers and colleagues, maintaining workshop cleanliness and safety, and inspecting final products for strength and appearance are key. The role might also include minor repairs and client customization work.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient in sofa and general furniture construction, including frame building, padding, and upholstery.
• Experienced in safe and effective use of hand and power tools like saws, staplers, drills, and cutting devices.
• Skilled in fabric handling—cutting, stitching, fitting—with attention to detail in symmetry and finishes.
• Able to read measurements, interpret basic design drawings, and sustain consistent product quality.
• Possesses good physical fitness, manual dexterity, and capability to lift and transport materials and finished furniture.
• Prior work experience in sofa making, upholstery, or furniture production is highly preferred.
• Capable of teamwork, following safety protocols, and meeting production deadlines.
• Basic English communication skills; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Educational background of high school or vocational training in carpentry, upholstery, or related fields is advantageous.
