Shop Manager

Role Overview

Farmfoods is seeking a dedicated Shop Manager for its Bury, Greater Manchester location (postcode: BL9 7AQ). This is a full-time permanent role involving 45 hours over 5 days each week, with flexible availability including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and actively participate in daily store operations.
• Inspire and motivate your team to deliver efficient store management and excellent customer service.
• Manage recruitment, induction, coaching, and ongoing development of your team to build a strong talent pipeline.
• Be accountable for the overall performance and upkeep of the store, ensuring customers receive great service, timely processing of deliveries, and maintenance of safety and cleanliness standards.
• Control key operational costs such as shrinkage, waste, and payroll, achieving business KPIs and reporting to the area manager.
• Maintain high standards related to customer service, cash handling, health and safety, stock control, merchandising, and store presentation.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a friendly, positive, and diligent work ethic.
• Exhibit strong leadership capabilities with the ability to guide teams under busy, demanding conditions.
• Be personable, able to collaborate well with colleagues and foster strong working relationships.
• Demonstrate reliability and trustworthiness; vital as a key member of a small team.
• Have previous management or assistant management experience.
• A full driving license is preferred but not mandatory if all other criteria are met.
• Willingness to undergo a Basic DBS or Disclosure Scotland check; employment is contingent upon passing this check.
