Retail Supervisor - Full Time

Position Overview

We are inviting applications for a Retail Supervisor role at our Farmfoods store located on Ferry Road, Edinburgh (EH4 2TX). This is a permanent full-time position offering 39 hours per week, spread over 5 days with shifts starting from 7 AM throughout the week, including weekends. Flexibility in work availability is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the store manager by leading and supporting the retail team to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
• Manage the shop independently in the manager's absence, maintaining safety, cleanliness, and efficient stock handling.
• Opening and closing the store, managing cash transactions, placing inventory orders, and mentoring retail assistants.
• Oversee operational cost management including controlling shrinkage, minimizing waste, and monitoring payroll expenses.

Candidate Requirements

• Exhibit a friendly, upbeat, and diligent work ethic.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships within the team and with customers.
• Dependability and trustworthiness to fulfill vital team roles consistently.
• Previous experience in supervisory, team leader, or managerial roles within retail or similar sectors is advantageous but not mandatory for candidates willing to begin a retail management career.
• Successful completion of a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (for Scotland) is mandatory; employment contingent on satisfactory results.
