Assistant Store Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager for our Farmfoods location in Pitsea, Essex (postcode SS13 3BY) to join our team permanently on a full-time basis. This role involves working 43 hours over 5 days a week, including at least one weekend shift, with schedule flexibility required across the week.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Store Manager to ensure the effective and smooth operation of the shop while delivering excellent customer service.
• Lead, develop, and mentor retail assistants through coaching and feedback to foster team growth.
• Take charge of the store in the absence of the Store Manager, ensuring customer satisfaction, prompt handling of deliveries, and adherence to shop routines that maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment.
• Manage motivation and direction of the team to control operational costs, including reducing shrinkage, waste, and payroll expenses.
• Assist with recruiting and onboarding new team members to maintain a strong workforce.
