About the Role
Farmfoods is seeking a Retail Supervisor to join their shop located in Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees (TS17 9FF). This is a permanent, full-time role involving 39 hours per week spread across 5 days, with shifts starting as early as 7 AM. Full flexibility throughout the week including weekends is generally expected for full-time roles.
Compensation and Benefits

Key Responsibilities
- Support the shop manager by leading the team to ensure efficient store operations and excellent customer service
- Manage the shop autonomously in the manager's absence, ensuring smooth execution of deliveries and maintaining shop cleanliness and safety
- Responsible for shop opening and closing procedures, cash handling, order placement, and team development of retail assistants
- Manage operational costs effectively, including controlling shrinkage, waste, and payroll
Candidate Profile
- Exhibits a friendly, positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues
- Trustworthy and dependable, as reliability is key in a small team environment
- Previous experience in retail supervision, team leading, or management is advantageous but not mandatory
- Willingness to complete a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (Scotland) with employment contingent on satisfactory clearance
