Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Shop Assistant who will assist customers in locating items, maintain fresh and well-stocked displays, and contribute to a welcoming store environment. No prior experience is required; training will be provided. Key attributes include a friendly demeanor, pride in work, and a passion for fresh quality food. Many store managers have started their journey as shop assistants.

Key Responsibilities

• Replenishing and rotating stock to ensure displays are full, fresh, and visually appealing
• Keeping the Back of House area tidy, organized, and efficiently managed
• Checking stock quality, monitoring expiration dates, and applying FIFO stock rotation
• Ensuring shelves are managed and arranged to enhance customer convenience
• Delivering helpful and proactive customer service on the shop floor
• Adhering to food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety practices
• Assisting the team to facilitate smooth daily store operations

Candidate Profile

• A genuine enthusiasm for food with prior experience in fresh food retail preferred
• Strong attention to detail paired with strong organizational skills
• Physically able to handle manual tasks and spend extended periods on foot
• A cooperative team player mindset combined with a solid work ethic
• Flexibility to work AM and PM shifts within a seven-day roster
