About Unloan and the Role
Join Unloan, a digital lending startup supported by Commonwealth Bank, focused on revolutionising the home loan experience across Australia. Our diverse team includes product managers, designers, engineers, risk managers, and lenders who collaborate to deliver a seamless digital to settlement journey for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all post-approval settlement activities ensuring customers experience a smooth and timely settlement process.
- Follow up on loan documentation, verify settlement conditions, resolve shortfalls, and complete disbursement tasks.
- Collaborate closely with the Assessment Team to clarify and resolve loan structures, financial payouts, fees, and shortfall calculations.
- Maintain oversight of your settlement pipeline and coordinate with customers and third-party Settlement Agents to meet daily settlement deadlines.
- Conduct retention conversations to effectively represent Unloan’s customer proposition and product offerings.
- Execute important tasks within PEXA to expedite customer settlements.
- Promote a customer-centric culture within a high-performance team environment.
- Identify and recommend service delivery improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Build a reputable personal brand through consistent delivery of exceptional customer service.

Candidate Profile
- Previous experience as a Settlements Specialist, preferably with knowledge of home lending processes.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, customer-oriented settings with a passion for excellence in service delivery.
- Attention to detail, resilience, and problem-solving skills in addressing customer needs.
- Familiarity with mortgage documentation such as Certificates of Title, Statutory Declarations, National Mortgage Forms, and Loan Contracts.
- Strong communication skills to engage customers and provide expert guidance through digital channels (email, SMS, live chat) and outbound calls.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a driven team.
Working Environment
This hybrid role requires presence in the office approximately 10% of the time (once every two weeks) at one of the core locations (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin) while primarily working remotely. Candidates must have a quiet, comfortable home workspace with reliable high-speed internet connectivity.
