This role requires a combination of advanced engineering skills, strong domain knowledge of banking and lending, and a commitment to building highly resilient and scalable platforms.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead strategy, architecture, and design decisions while maintaining hands-on software development responsibilities.
- Own the full lifecycle of products from concept through to production in a "you build it, you run it" culture.
- Drive innovation by incorporating automation and modern engineering practices to enhance platform reliability and scaling.
- Mentor and uplift engineering teams by setting technical standards and promoting continuous improvement and experimentation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align engineering efforts with business goals, balancing risk, compliance, and user experience.
- Lead the modernization of legacy systems into API-first, event-driven, cloud-native architectures at enterprise scale.
- Apply AI and automation technologies responsibly, considering regulatory, privacy, and security implications.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive hands-on experience in TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, and REST APIs with full-stack proficiency.
- Strong back-end system design skills capable of handling complex financial workflows and high transaction volumes.
- Proficiency in building distributed, event-driven systems with observability and operational control.
- Familiarity with AI and automation tools including generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and multi-agent systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, along with container technologies like Docker.
- Solid understanding of DevOps practices using tools like Git, GitHub Actions, and SonarQube.
- Competence in testing frameworks including Jest, Playwright, and Storybook to ensure quality and production readiness.
- Knowledge of observability tools such as Application Insights enhances system monitoring.
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks, especially Next.js and React Native, is advantageous.
