About The Role
Costa House in Lara is a 120-bed aged care residence spread across 65 peaceful acres, providing a close-knit and supportive team environment. The home features modern rooms, expansive gardens, and proximity to local shops and community activities, blending a tranquil lifestyle with rewarding work. As a Maintenance Services Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, comfort, and functionality of this environment.
Working weekdays Monday through Friday, you will assist with general maintenance of buildings, equipment, and outdoor spaces, responding efficiently to daily maintenance needs. This position suits a practical, proactive, and dependable individual who enjoys hands-on tasks, without requiring specialist trade qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct general repairs and maintenance to ensure smooth facility operation
- Perform preventative upkeep on buildings, equipment, and systems to maintain safety and reliability
- Swiftly respond to maintenance requests, diagnose issues, and prioritize urgent repairs to support residents and staff
- Help maintain outdoor areas including gardens, pathways, and external spaces in a safe, organized, and welcoming state
- Monitor facility condition, report hazards or larger repair needs, manage tools and records, and contribute to workplace safety
Candidate Profile
- Hands-on experience in general maintenance or related practical roles
- Competence in building maintenance and repair tasks
- Ability to work autonomously; manage task priorities and respond to urgent maintenance requirements
- Solid knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety standards and safe work procedures
- Possession of a current driver's license
- Clearances including National Police Check and NDIS worker screening, along with any sector-specific approvals
- Strong communication abilities coupled with professionalism and respectfulness
