Role Overview
We are inviting applications for a Maintenance Engineer at our Nelson plant. This pivotal role is essential for the reliable functioning of our plant and machinery. The position involves a rotating shift schedule totaling 45 hours weekly.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold stringent Health & Safety practices consistently.
- Install, maintain, and provide support for plant and operational machinery.
- Promptly address and remedy any equipment breakdowns.
- Conduct routine inspections and servicing on daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
- Plan and implement both reactive and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to reduce equipment downtime.
- Diagnose technical faults and identify root causes.
- Repair or replace defective components as needed.
- Assist with ongoing management of engineering inventory and spare parts.
Candidate Profile
- Possess at least a Level 4 Engineering qualification.
- Demonstrated practical experience in fitting, machining, or welding disciplines.
- Highly committed to Health & Safety protocols.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities paired with creative thinking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in maintaining accurate documentation and records.
- Willingness and ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
- Experience in food production or manufacturing sectors is advantageous.
- Electrical qualification is considered a plus.
