Setting Out Engineer

Overview

Global Professional Consultants is seeking a Setting Out Engineer for a main building contractor engaged in a housing development project located in Arklow, County Wicklow, Ireland. The project is scheduled to commence in the coming weeks.

Primary Responsibilities

• Execute precise setting out of construction elements based on detailed drawings, specifications, and project guidelines.
• Establish and verify reference points, grades, and benchmarks to guarantee accuracy in measurements and alignment.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand and implement setting out specifications effectively.
• Operate surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS units, and laser levels to obtain exact measurements and layouts while adhering strictly to health and safety standards.
• Uphold rigorous health and safety practices at all times.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience performing setting out on building projects within Ireland or the United Kingdom.
• Possession of a third-level degree in Construction or Civil Engineering.
• Skilled in using Total Station, Electronic Distance Measurement (EDM) instruments, and GPS technology to deliver accurate site layout.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive salary estimated between €60,000 and €70,000 annually.
