Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Site Engineer to oversee daily project activities and maintenance tasks on site. The candidate will manage two Foremen along with their teams across fit-out, renovation, and routine or emergency maintenance work. All crews handle both planned projects and reactive maintenance, with daily task assignments coordinated via a central dispatch desk. Reporting to the Operations Manager and supported by the Engineering & Consulting department for technical matters, this position is suitable for an engineer who thrives in the field and can effectively supervise a diverse multinational workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily on-site supervision of renovation, fit-out, and maintenance projects ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery.
- Direct and coordinate the efforts of two Foremen and their teams to meet project and maintenance requirements.
- Review workmanship, material usage, and verify compliance against drawings and technical specifications consistently.
- Address and resolve technical problems on site, escalating complex issues appropriately.
- Assist in project planning, including schedule creation, material estimation, progress tracking, and regular status reporting.
- Arrange and monitor site logistics such as material deliveries, equipment availability, and subcontractor coordination.
- Maintain detailed records including daily logs, photographic progress documentation, punch lists, and handover packets.
- Supervise maintenance work orders assigned via dispatch, guaranteeing response and completion within stipulated times.
- Inspect maintenance tasks before approval and identify repetitive faults, proposing preventive solutions.
- Manage crew assignments daily in alignment with the dispatch desk, tracking attendance, productivity, and overtime.
- Provide on-the-job training and guidance to Foremen and tradespeople; report and address performance issues.
- Enforce site safety protocols, conduct toolbox talks, pre-work briefings, and participate in incident reporting and investigations.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager within the scope of this role.
Required Competencies
Technical:
- Proven skills in supervising civil, MEP, and finishing trades.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and quantity bills.
- Knowledge of maintenance workflows including work order systems and preventive maintenance programs.
- Experience in managing site logistics, materials, and subcontractor activities effectively.
- Strong understanding of construction and maintenance safety standards.
Soft Skills:
- Leadership capability to motivate and direct Foremen and trade crews.
- Effective communication across various organizational levels including management, engineering, and trades.
- Practical problem-solving skills for prompt resolution of on-site issues.
- Organizational ability to handle multiple sites and tasks simultaneously.
Language Requirements
- Arabic: Mandatory.
- English: Proficient level required.
Educational Requirements and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional certification from the Saudi Council of Engineers is mandatory.
- 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in site supervision or facility maintenance within construction, contracting, consultancy, or facility management sectors.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing diverse trade crews including electricians, plumbers, masons, and finishing workers.
- Experience in daily site reporting and material management.
Additional Information
