Job description
Main Mission
The Workplace & Technical Operations Generalist based in Dublin plays a hands-on, field-oriented role primarily focused on event and AV production. This role also provides on-site technical troubleshooting and ongoing workplace operations support for the Dublin office and broader EMEA region.
This position requires a generalist approach rather than specialization. A key attribute is a strong curiosity about technology, the capability to rapidly learn new tools and workflows, and the independence to operate and travel autonomously across Dublin, Paris, and other EMEA offices.
Role Overview
- Handle AV setup, dismantling, and live support for various events including all-hands meetings, offsites, and internal gatherings across EMEA offices such as Dublin, London, and Paris, both in person and remotely.
- Coordinate production vendors for larger events involving staging, sound, lighting, and streaming on a regional scale.
- Maintain and troubleshoot AV equipment and conferencing systems across meeting rooms in the EMEA offices, adapting to evolving AV and conferencing tools without a need for prior platform expertise.
- Manage livestreaming and broadcast setups to support multi-office all-hands sessions.
- Develop local expertise to minimize reliance on external support for recurring AV and event needs.
- Act as the "remote hands" resource for EMEA by traveling to various offices to physically diagnose and repair issues like faulty devices or cabling problems to avoid prolonged system downtime.
- Provide on-site technical support for meeting rooms, network closets, and building technology touchpoints across EMEA offices.
- Collaborate with the infrastructure team on building systems such as building management, access control, and smart lighting, without owning strategy or configuration responsibilities.
- Escalate problems beyond physical troubleshooting as necessary, avoiding duplication of the helpdesk role.
- Serve as the key contact for day-to-day workplace concerns in the Dublin office, including managing supplies, deliveries, and service provider coordination.
- Ensure that meeting rooms and shared communal areas are maintained to a high standard.
- Utilize internal ticketing tools (e.g., Jira) to track workplace and facilities requests efficiently.
- Assist with basic building maintenance coordination, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, engaging qualified providers for specialized work.
- Support compliance with local health and safety regulations, organize mandatory training, drills, and coordinate fire safety and first aid efforts.
- Support project management by assisting vendor coordination and tracking initiatives related to technical and workplace improvements regionally.
- Assist with budget oversight for AV, workplace, and technical equipment expenses across the EMEA region.
- Identify ways to enhance employee experience using improved tools and lightweight automation solutions (e.g., Notion workflows), focusing on innovation rather than deep automation expertise.
- Support small office moves, additions, and changes involving technical systems.
- Collaborate closely with the EMEA PREWFI team to align workplace, facilities, and technical activities.
- Partner with Infrastructure and Security teams on projects involving systems, networks, and infrastructure.
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, IT, Infrastructure, Security, and external contractors to ensure smooth office operations in Dublin and consistency across EMEA.
- Regularly travel to Paris, Dublin, and other EMEA offices to provide AV, infrastructure, and technical support; travel is integral to this role.
Candidate Profile
- Approximately five years of practical experience in event production, AV, technical support, or related hands-on technical roles is required.
- The role demands autonomy—ability to work independently without close supervision, make sound decisions about priorities, and navigate time management effectively.
- Possess a proactive, "figure-it-out" mentality, eager to engage with new building automation, IoT, or infrastructure platforms and take responsibility for their advancement.
- Collaborative mindset toward IT and network fundamentals, enabling effective partnerships with specialized teams to resolve technical challenges holistically.
- Curiosity and interest in leveraging data and automation tools such as Claude, Google Apps Script, or Notion to facilitate smarter team workflows.
- Comfortable with on-the-ground hands-on troubleshooting of AV systems, network closets, and building technology components without needing frequent escalation.
- Strong organizational abilities and capacity to juggle multiple technical projects simultaneously.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in French or German is highly beneficial due to regular travel and collaboration across the region.
- Keen and quick learner of new technologies and systems without requiring extensive guidance.
- Maintains composure and follows established procedures in high-pressure environments such as live events, crowded spaces, or technical malfunctions.
Benefits and Work Culture
- Opportunity to contribute to impactful products used by millions, collaborating with diverse and global teams to shape modern relationships worldwide.
- Access to high-quality healthcare, mental health support, and emergency leave provisions.
- Enjoy a supportive work-life balance within a flexible and inclusive workplace.
- Work from a contemporary office location with convenient transport links and nearby amenities.
- Receive lunch vouchers and discounted access to ClassPass membership.
- Continuous growth opportunities through e-learning, conferences, knowledge-sharing events, and global career mobility.
- Participate in regular social gatherings such as breakfasts, lunches, and social apéros.
- Get complimentary access to company products.
