Senior/Associate Architect

About the Role

Join Beca's Pacific architecture team in Tauranga to contribute to projects that have a significant impact across the Pacific region. This role is vital for enhancing capabilities in Tauranga, a central hub for Pacific architectural initiatives.

At Beca, architects integrate design with community and environmental considerations to create spaces that foster living, learning, and connectivity. Collaborate with experts in environmental science, climate adaptation, coastal engineering, urban design, and social impact to address complex challenges through an integrated approach.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the delivery of intricate Pacific-related projects from conception to completion. Oversee multidisciplinary teams ensuring high-quality design and technical standards while managing schedules, budgeting, and resource constraints effectively. Mitigate project risks and deliver pragmatic, resilient design outcomes. Foster strong connections with clients, stakeholders, and funding bodies to achieve successful project realizations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a confident, collaborative architect with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in architectural consultancy, adept at leading complex projects and balancing design goals with practical delivery constraints.

Qualifications and Experience

• Accredited tertiary qualification in Architecture with professional registration.
• At least 10 years of experience in architectural consultancy environments.
• Demonstrated capability to lead projects from ideation through to completion.
• Strong skills in design, technical aspects, and project delivery.
• History of effective collaboration with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience contributing technical input for bids and proposals, preferably for complex or internationally funded initiatives.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit software.
• Familiarity with Pacific or similar international project settings is highly valued.

Additional Desired Skills

• Experience with Pacific or international projects.
• Knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC).
• Competence in software tools like Bluebeam, Adobe Suite, and SketchUp.

Travel opportunities within the Pacific to engage closely with local communities and stakeholders are part of this role. While Tauranga is the primary location, Auckland-based applicants will also be considered, with a focus on Tauranga projects.
