About the Role
Join Tawharau Ora, Massey University's School of Veterinary Science, as a Senior Veterinary Teaching Technician at our Manawatu campus in Palmerston North. In this permanent full-time position, you will support the delivery of the Bachelor of Veterinary Science program through hands-on teaching assistance and administrative tasks.
Your responsibilities will include facilitating practical and clinical classes by handling setup, supervision, and student assistance; creating educational resources such as videos, online tutorials, and laboratory guides; managing various animal species including dogs, cats, horses, cattle, sheep, and occasionally deer; and upholding strict animal ethics and health and safety protocols.
About You
We seek an individual with veterinary clinic experience and strong clinical capabilities, especially in large animal care, to complement our existing team’s proficiency in small animal clinical skills. You should be digitally adept, detail-oriented, well-organized, positive, proactive, and cooperative. A full New Zealand driver's license is required. Educational qualifications include a veterinary degree (BVSc, DVM, VMD) ideally registrable in New Zealand or a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology. Relevant experience combined with veterinary nursing qualifications may also be considered.

The salary will be competitive within Grade 5, ranging from $60,069 to $84,876, dependent on experience.
